From Krakow Balice airport to the city centre
Getting from Krakow Balice airport to the city centre is relatively simple and inexpensive with the airport located only 15km from the old town. There is the choice of the following methods
Private Shuttle Bus
Cost is approx 80 pln per bus journey for a group of 4 or 130 pln for a group of 4 to 8 people. Simply fill in the following request form to confirm prices. Krakow Shuttle bus
Taxi
Taxis are also a good option if a little bit more expensive with cost ranging from 50 -80 pln depending on the company, time and day (Sundays are more expensive). There are always taxis waiting just outside the airport doors, however, this option always runs the risk of you being ripped off. Generally the taxi drivers are relatively honest however.
Bus
The bus is an easy an economical option for getting from Krakow airport into the city centre. The bus leaves from about 100 m from the airport doors. As you exit the airport turn right and follow the path or just ask someone. There are two busses, the 292 or the 208 which both go to the centre. The Plac inwalidow stop is probably the most central place to get off the bus and is about 300m away from the main square or alternatively if you are on the 208 it will take you to the main station which is also central.
The busses leave the airport quite regularly - approx every 30 mins during peak times. The cost of the bus is approx 3 pln but also be aware that you may have to pay extra for your luggage. Try and get change for the bus first as the drivers are not very co-operative with bank notes!
Train
Krakow Airport has a shuttle train that runs every 30 mins during peak times with a travel time of only 16 mins and it takes you to the main railway station. The price of the ticket is approx 8 pln and you can buy the ticket on the train or from an attendant. To catch the train from the airport, you need to get a shuttle bus from outside of the front of the airport which takes you the few hundred meters to where the train leaves from.
